My name is Wendy.
Living in Astana, Kazakhstan: handmaiden to Scruffy Nellie (found on the street but now firmly established on the kitchen sofa) and to husband (manservant to the dog).
I love sushi, marzipan and Earl Grey tea and, one day, hope to retire to a remote island in the Scottish Highlands, surrounded by joyous, licky dogs.
I’ve lived in Belarus, Ghana and the USA.
I specialise in writing about travel and culture. Many of my articles appear online and in print – published under my pen name of Anne Coombes.
I’ve also updated travel guides for Dorling Kindersley and wrote the Belarus edition for the Culture Smart series.
I copy-edit for UNICEF, the UNDP and IFC.
